This free brochure is for professionals who work with young people or in policy in related areas, including youth workers, health workers, those who work with young people with harmful sexual behaviours, and other professionals working in education, health promotion, violence prevention or counselling with young people. It outlines how we can support your organisation to address the impacts of pornography.

Online training

This self-paced online course has been developed for professionals who work with young people across a wide range of sectors, and for people in related management or policy roles. The course aims to support you to understand pornography’s prevalence and nature, how it is contributing to young people’s sexual socialisation, and what you can do to support young people to safely navigate pornography’s influence.

Full day professional learning

Our full day professional learning is for staff who work with young people and their families. It utilises a combination of presentations, videos, small and large group discussions and activities to provide staff with: 

  • a strong understanding of pornography’s prevalence, nature and impact on young people 

  • frameworks and strategies for addressing pornography’s influence with young people. 

It is suitable for up to 60 participants for in-person delivery. You may wish to consider inviting staff from other organisations in your region.

Brief professional learning: General practitioners

A concise professional learning presentation to build awareness and understanding among professionals who work with young people. It involves:
  • A 65 minute presentation providing an overview of pornography’s harmful impacts on young people
  • a Q&A session

Brief professional learning: Harmful sexual behaviours

A concise professional learning presentation to build awareness and understanding among
all professionals who work with young people with harmful sexual behaviours. It can be used as a stand-alone introductory resource or as part of a comprehensive package to suit the specific needs of your organisation and community. It involves: 
  • A 70 minute presentation providing an overview of pornography’s harmful impacts on young people - including the implications of porn for the assessment and treatment of young people with harmful sexual behaviours
  • a Q&A session
